Three of the best books I have ever read are:
1. Infidel by Ayaan Hirsi Ali
2. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling
3. The Shining by Stephen King
All three are brilliantly written, for their genres, and are captivating reads that focus on character and plot (the first one, Infidel, is a nonfiction read but still...its amazing). I'm also reading Memoirs of a Geisha, but I haven't finished it yet so I can't put it in my top 3...yet. :)
Honorable mentions: To Kill a Mockingbird, Fahrenheit 451, and Water for Elephants.
Worst books I have read are:
1. Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
2. New Moon by Stephenie Meyer
3. Hearts in Atlantis by Stephen King
The first two books are way worse than the third one I put down. The first two are sloppy messes that have bland characters and little to no plot.
The third one has great characters actually, but towards the middle of the book the plot seems to disappear and it feels like I was reading a totally different story. Not Stephen King's best work but not as bad as Twilight and New Moon. Sorry Mr. King that you had to be in the same list as her!
